What we cover

What kind of tips we're looking for.

A good tip doesn't need to be a finished story. It needs to point us toward something our editors can independently confirm.

Breaking news
Unannounced developments, company moves, launches, recalls and incidents as they happen.
Rare and limited-production cars
Prototypes, special commissions, significant collections and cars with an untold story.
The exotic-car market
Pricing shifts, unusual transactions and what's moving inside the dealer and collector trade.
Auctions and provenance
Rediscovered cars, ownership histories, upcoming sales and records that change what's known about a car.
The automotive business
Manufacturers, suppliers, startups, acquisitions and executive changes.
Technology and engineering
Powertrains, EV and hybrid systems, aerodynamics, software and safety technology.
Motorsport and events
Race programmes, concours, car shows and what's happening behind the scenes.
Documents and data
Records, filings or datasets that could support an investigation.

What makes a strong news tip?

You don't need every answer. But the more verifiable detail you give us, the faster our newsroom can decide whether a story is there.

We verify before we publish.

A submission is a starting point, not proof. ECN independently checks claims, documents, images, dates and identities before using any of it. Read our editorial standards.

  • What happened.Lead with the most important fact and why it matters.
  • How you know.Firsthand knowledge, documents or a named source carry the most weight.
  • The specifics.Names, dates, locations, VINs, companies, model names and timelines.
  • Where the evidence is.Public records, photos, video, filings, listings or other source material.
  • What isn't public yet.Tell us which parts haven't been reported anywhere else.

What happens after you send it

  1. An editor reads it. Tips are read the day they arrive.
  2. We check what we can. Claims are verified against records, sources and our own reporting.
  3. We may follow up. Only if you left contact details and said we can.
  4. We decide on coverage. Based on newsworthiness and what we can confirm.

Not a secure channel. This form is not encrypted end to end and is not a whistleblower system. Don't use it for information that needs specialized source protection. Submitting through it doesn't by itself guarantee confidentiality or anonymity.

How do I send a news tip to Exotic Car News?

Use the tip form on this page or email [email protected]. Describe what happened, explain how you know, and include any links, documents or photos that help our editors verify it.

Can I send a tip without giving my name?

Yes. Name and email are optional. Without contact details, though, our editors can't ask follow-up questions, which can make a tip harder to verify.

Is the tip form secure or confidential?

No. It's a standard web form, not an encrypted whistleblower system, and submitting through it doesn't by itself guarantee confidentiality or anonymity. Don't use it for information that requires specialized source protection.

Will ECN reply to my tip?

Tips are read the day they arrive, but we can't reply to every one. If we pursue your tip and you left contact details with permission to follow up, an editor may reach out.

Does sending a tip guarantee a story?

No. Coverage decisions are made independently, based on newsworthiness, relevance and what we can verify. A tip is a starting point, not proof.

Can a company pay or advertise to get coverage?

No. Advertising and commercial partnerships are handled separately from editorial and don't buy coverage. Press releases and information from companies with a commercial interest can still be useful, but they don't determine ECN's conclusions.

Does ECN own what I send?

No. Submitting material doesn't transfer ownership of it to Exotic Car News unless we agree otherwise in writing. Please only send material you have the legal right to share.
