The short version. Exotic Car News is free to read. You are welcome to link to our work, quote it briefly with credit, and share it. You may not republish our articles or photography, scrape the site, or feed our archive into a training dataset. What we publish is journalism, not buying, investment or legal advice — verify specifications and prices with the manufacturer or seller before you act on them. If you send us a news tip, we treat it carefully and only use it as described below.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of exoticcarnews.com and any pages, feeds, newsletters and other services we operate under the Exotic Car News name (together, the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information and forms part of these terms.
2. Who we are
Exotic Car News (“ECN,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is an independent editorial publication covering exotic, luxury and performance automobiles. ECN is a publication of Exotic Motors Media LLC.
3. Who may use the Site
The Site is intended for a general adult audience. You may use it if you are 16 or older and legally able to agree to these terms. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
4. Our editorial content
We work to be accurate, and we correct what we get wrong. Even so, the Site is provided for general information and enthusiast interest. Vehicle specifications, performance figures, availability, pricing, auction results and market values change constantly and are frequently revised by manufacturers, sellers and auction houses after we publish.
Nothing on the Site is buying, selling, investment, tax, insurance or legal advice. Collector vehicles are not a guaranteed store of value. Before you buy, sell, insure or otherwise act on anything you read here, verify it independently with the manufacturer, the seller, or a qualified professional. Any decision you make is your own.
Opinions expressed in reviews, analysis and commentary are those of the author.
5. Advertising, sponsored and affiliate content
The Site is supported by advertising. Where we publish sponsored content, or use links that may earn us a commission, we label it on the page. Advertisers and commercial partners do not review, approve or influence our editorial coverage. Advertisements and sponsored placements are the responsibility of the party that supplied them, and our display of an advertisement is not an endorsement.
6. Our intellectual property
All articles, headlines, analysis, layouts, graphics, original photography and other material we publish are owned by Exotic Motors Media LLC or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. “Exotic Car News” and our logo are our marks.
Much of the photography on the Site is shot in person by our own team and credited accordingly. It is not stock, and it is not licensed for reuse.
What you may do. You may read, print and share the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may link to our articles freely. You may quote a short excerpt for commentary, criticism or news reporting, provided you credit Exotic Car News and link to the original article.
What you may not do. Without our written permission, you may not republish, syndicate, translate, sell or redistribute our articles or photography in whole or in substantial part; remove or alter credits, watermarks or bylines; or present our work as your own or as another publication’s.
7. Automated access and text and data mining
You may not scrape, crawl, harvest, mirror or bulk-download the Site except as expressly permitted by our robots.txt file, and you may not use the Site in a way that burdens or interferes with its operation or security.
We expressly reserve all rights in our content for the purposes of text and data mining and the development, training, fine-tuning or evaluation of artificial intelligence or machine learning systems. 8. Comments
Where we enable comments, you are responsible for what you post. Keep it civil and on topic. Do not post anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, obscene, deceptive or infringing; do not impersonate anyone; do not post spam, advertising or affiliate links; and do not post other people’s personal information.
We are not obliged to monitor comments, but we may edit, refuse or remove any comment, and close comments on any article, at our discretion and without notice. Comments are the views of the people who post them, not of ECN.
9. News tips and submissions
We welcome tips, photographs, corrections and story suggestions.
When you send us material, you keep ownership of it. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and publish that material in our coverage and in promotion of that coverage, in any format, and to keep it in our archive. You confirm that the material is yours to send and that publishing it will not infringe anyone’s rights or breach any obligation you owe to someone else.
We will not sell or sub-license your material to third parties, and we will not use it outside our own journalism and its promotion without asking you first.
If you ask to remain anonymous, we will not publish your identity, and we will not share the contents of a confidential tip outside our editorial team except where we are legally compelled to do so. Please tell us up front if material is confidential.
We cannot promise to publish, respond to or return anything you send, and we may independently develop coverage similar to a suggestion you send us.
10. Third-party links, names and marks
We link to manufacturers, auction houses, event organizers, other publications and our affiliated properties, including our sister marketplace Motor Stables and Exotic Motors. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products or practices. Once you follow a link, their terms and privacy policies apply, not ours.
Manufacturer, model, event and organization names and marks that appear on the Site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and editorial commentary. Their use does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by or endorsement from those owners, and ECN is not affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer.
11. Disclaimers
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, and any warranty that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that its content is accurate, current or complete.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Exotic Motors Media LLC and its members, officers, employees and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of the Site, whether based in contract, tort, negligence or any other theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Exotic Motors Media LLC and its members, officers, employees and contributors from any claim, demand, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the Site, your breach of these terms, or material you submit to us.
14. Copyright complaints
We respect copyright and expect the same in return. If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, contact us through our contact page with enough detail to identify the work, the material you say is infringing and where it appears, your contact details, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized. We will review and, where appropriate, remove the material.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Site, are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. You agree that the state and federal courts located in New Jersey will have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction and venue.
Any claim relating to the Site must be brought within one year after it arises, to the extent permitted by law.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Site, our practices or the law change. The date at the top reflects the current version. Where a change is material, we will flag it on the Site. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
17. General
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
