Lamborghini Revuelto SV: 1,963-Unit Super Veloce Expected to Debut at Monterey

Lamborghini is weeks away from bringing back its most storied badge. The Lamborghini Revuelto SV — the first Super Veloce since the Aventador SV bowed out nearly a decade ago — is expected to make its public debut during Monterey Car Week in August, and the picture of what is coming has sharpened considerably over the past month.

A Private Preview and a Meaningful Number

Select Lamborghini clients have already seen the car. A private unveiling was reportedly held in New York on June 13, ahead of the public reveal later this summer. People familiar with that showing describe an aggressive design with a new fixed rear spoiler, a blacked-out hood and roof, and seats lifted from the ultra-rare Fenomeno. Four launch liveries are said to be on offer, with the debut specification finished in red.

The most significant detail to emerge: production is expected to be capped at 1,963 units — a clear nod to the year Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the company. If accurate, it would make the Revuelto SV a limited edition rather than an open-production variant, a break from how the Aventador SV was sold and a decision with obvious implications for allocation demand.

What the Prototypes Reveal

Camouflaged prototypes have been running at Imola and the Nürburgring for months, wearing a wrap that reads “Attenzione: Macchina Veloce” — attention, fast car. The disguise has done little to hide the hardware. The SV carries a large fixed carbon fiber rear wing with vented outer elements, a much deeper front splitter, slashed front intakes reminiscent of the Huracán STO, a redesigned diffuser, additional cooling vents above the taillights, and a new exhaust with four round tips set in a hexagonal finisher.

None of this is decoration. The fixed wing and splitter shift the car’s aerodynamic balance decisively toward downforce, which is why the SV is also expected to carry recalibrated suspension and revised front-axle torque-vectoring software to keep the front end matched to the rear. Track development at Imola rather than a proving ground says plenty about the brief.

Power: How Far Past 1,001 HP?

The standard Revuelto pairs a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 — 825 hp on its own at 9,250 rpm — with three electric motors for a combined 1,001 hp, good for 0–62 mph in 2.5 seconds through an eight-speed dual-clutch and all-wheel drive.

For the SV, estimates range from roughly 1,065 hp to 1,200 hp, with the more extreme figures floating as high as 1,400 hp — a number worth treating with caution until Sant’Agata says otherwise. History offers a template: the Aventador SV added 50 horsepower and cut 50 kilograms, and a similar weight reduction is expected here. Whatever the final figure, the SV will extend the life of one of the last naturally aspirated twelve-cylinder engines still in production — and likely represents the wildest expression that engine will ever receive in a series-production Lamborghini.

The Super Veloce Lineage

Super Veloce is not a trim level at Lamborghini — it is a ritual, performed once per V12 generation. The badge first appeared on the Miura SV in 1971, returned on the Diablo SV in the 1990s, and reached cult status with the Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce in 2009 — a car whose planned 350-unit run was cut short when the Aventador arrived, making survivors disproportionately valuable today. The Aventador SV of 2015 followed the formula precisely: more power, less weight, more aggression, and immediate sell-out demand.

Every one of those cars now sits at or near the top of its generation’s collector hierarchy. That track record, more than any spec-sheet rumor, explains why the Revuelto SV was being discussed in allocation terms before a single official photograph existed.

Inside: Fenomeno Seats and a Stripped Brief

The cabin is expected to follow the exterior’s lead. The seats reported from the New York preview come from the Fenomeno, Lamborghini’s few-off flagship — carbon-shelled buckets that cut weight while signaling exactly where this car sits in the hierarchy. Expect more exposed carbon, more Alcantara, and the usual hexagonal design language turned up rather than down. Lamborghini has never treated its track specials as penalty boxes, and there is no indication the SV changes that.

Pricing and What the Market Will Do With It

Lamborghini has said nothing official about price. The standard Revuelto stickers at just over $600,000 in the United States before options, and Super Veloce models have historically carried premiums in the 20–25 percent range over the cars they are based on — which would point toward the mid-$700,000s before the configurator does its work. A hard cap of 1,963 units changes the usual math, however: limited-run V12 Lamborghinis have a habit of trading above sticker from the first delivery, and the combination of a heritage badge, a numbered run, and the final era of the naturally aspirated V12 checks every box the collector market currently rewards.

Expect allocations to be steered toward Lamborghini’s established collectors first — the same clients who saw the car in June — with the public reveal serving as confirmation rather than invitation.

Why Monterey, and Why Now

An August debut would put the Revuelto SV on the lawn at the moment the hypercar market is at its most visible, with McLaren W1 deliveries underway and every flagship maker leaning on heritage to move metal — a strategy Ferrari is embracing just as openly with its returning heritage badges. Lamborghini’s 2026 pipeline is reportedly deep beyond the SV, with an updated Urus Performante, an open-top Temerario, and a possible Fenomeno roadster all in various stages of testing.

Three years into the Revuelto’s lifecycle, the timing follows Lamborghini’s established playbook: launch the flagship, let demand mature, then release the sharpened version that becomes the collector’s pick. If the 1,963-unit cap holds, expect the order book to be closed long before the covers come off.

Exotic Car News will have full specifications, pricing, and allocation details when the Revuelto SV makes its official debut. For daily coverage of every major hypercar launch and the collector market behind them, explore the rest of our features.
